Glorious mountain maternity session...
Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful maternity session at Raven’s Roost Overlook, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway near Charlottesville, Virginia. The mountain views and open skies made the perfect backdrop for capturing this family’s anticipation as they prepare to welcome a new baby.
This mama-to-be was joined by her husband and daughter for a relaxed and natural evening session. The setting, combined with the quiet connection between family members, allowed for images that feel both timeless and meaningful. Documenting the expectant stage of motherhood is always an honor—and doing so in a place as peaceful as Raven’s Roost made it even more special.
As the session came to a close, we watched the sun set over the ridgeline together. That quiet moment felt like a fitting way to mark the transition this family is about to make as they grow from three to four.
